The user group had to be chosen before any ideas could be formulated. The chosen user group was casual fisherman, for its variety of forms in the user's tools and the challenge of designing for a user group that I am not personally a member of.
These sketches were used to put ideas down on paper to create a bank of ideas for each facet of the design to draw from when trying to bring together a final design

My first experience making in metal taught me the details you have to pay attention to. The dream of creating a floating tackle box was abandoned after this experience due to the growing feeling that it was more of a gimmick that detracted from the pursuit of a quality form. This was a pivotal point in the semester for me because it forced me to stop hiding behind function to make up for poor form and that there is value in a well-done form.

My focus was shifted towards a tackle box that better interacted with the human body, particularly the side of the leg when it is being carried. Though there were several issues with craftsmanship and some unresolved issues with the practicality of it being carried, I was proud of creating something of my own design out of metal, a new experience for me, and that I had learned to appreciate form more.
